Location and Surroundings

Claremont School is located in East Sussex, only an hour’s drive from London. This institution fosters a blend of international and local students, cultivating a welcoming and encouraging community. Its residential buildings are ideally situated in a scenic area, enveloped by nature and in proximity to the coastline. This prime location not only supports academic achievement but also promotes outdoor recreational events.

Accommodation and Community

The school provides full and weekly boarding options for students ages 10 to 18. Two distinct boarding houses serve the students: Clyde House for boys and Pyke House for girls. Both residences uphold excellent standards of care and support, offering a nurturing environment conducive to English language mastery and independence—essential skills for prospective British university entrants.

Benefits of Off-Campus Living

The boarding facilities at Claremont School are strategically placed off campus to delineate study from home life. This arrangement fosters individual growth and enhances integration into the community. Furthermore, students benefit from easy access to local services and transport links, making journeys to London more accessible. Living away from the academic setting also allows for improved concentration on studies and personal growth.

Features of the Houses

Pyke House accommodates 44 younger girls, positioned close to historical landmarks, and boasts common areas and sports facilities. Meanwhile, Clyde House hosts up to 60 boys in single rooms with en-suite bathrooms, complemented by a spacious garden and social spaces. Together, these residences create a supportive atmosphere for students to excel both academically and socially.

Services and Amenities

The boarding houses come fully equipped with all necessary amenities to ensure a comfortable living experience. Students can partake in a diverse array of activities, ranging from sports to creative pursuits. Each house contains common rooms equipped with televisions, gaming consoles, and computers. Wi-Fi is readily available, and meals feature fresh ingredients. Comprehensive medical services are also on hand, including sick rooms and designated isolation spaces.

Additional Aspects and Requirements

Each international student is required to have a guardian in the UK, which the school can assist in organising. To participate in off-campus events and school trips, an activity fee must be paid. Additionally, transport arrangements for international students can be organised with prior notice.
